Historical Crisis Committee

Topic: Salem Witch Trials 1692

The Historical Crisis Committee (HCC) merges historical analysis with the chaos of a Model United Nations conference. Positions will be prominent figures in history, with their own incentives and ideologies, and delegates will be tasked with representing their individuals to the utmost ability. Additionally, delegates will be tasked with adapting to numerous crisis updates based on historical events, and it requires knowledge of historical detail in order to interact and engage in the committee. HCC is the best fit for crisis-experienced Model UN delegates who are able to quickly work with others and interact with delicate historical situations. More details about the topic will be provided when the committee backgrounder is published.

Being an advanced committee, position papers are required for all delegates to ensure the quality of the committee and delegate engagement. Additionally, delegates who do not submit position papers will not be in award consideration. Delegates are expected to use the committee backgrounder as well as delegate resources to craft their position paper. The committee will be run using Crisis Rules of Procedure, and it is strongly recommended that delegates review Crisis Rules of Procedure and the background guide prior to the conference.
