Disarmament and International Security Committee

Topic: Private Military and Security Companies (PMSCs) in Modern Conflict

The Disarmament and International Security Committee (DISEC) is the first committee of the United Nations, which deals with various global challenges involving disarmament and disruptions to peace and creates innovative solutions to maintain international security. DISEC includes conversations regarding the topics of military devices, security threats, and new technologies that are critical to international security. The committee also focuses on global security relations and the general principles of international cooperation. Aiming to solve these matters relating to security and peace, DISEC requires delegates to create strong and diplomatic resolutions through collaboration and communication. Being a great place for debate and learning for delegates of all experience levels, DISEC is a comprehensive and solution-oriented committee that provides a traditional Model UN experience. Position papers are highly recommended for delegates in this committee and are mandatory for award consideration.
