Chair

James Kim, a dedicated IB Diploma Year 1 student at Abby Senior, is thrilled to be serving as the Chair for the Social, Cultural, and Humanitarian Committee (SOCHUM) at AbbyMUN V, 2024. His journey with Model United Nations began with AbbyMUN IV, where he found himself captivated by the world of diplomacy and debate. Since then, his enthusiasm for MUN has only grown, from the Cult of Santa Claus to threatening oil dumping in an environmental committee. These unique experiences ignited James’s passion for international issues and public speaking, making him eager to share his insights and skills with others. James is always up for discussing philosophical questions or conspiracy theories, often engaging in long, hour long yap sessions. Outside of MUN, he enjoys debating, reading, and nerding out on the most random of topics, which fuel his dynamic personality. With his commitment to creating a memorable conference, James is dedicated to making AbbyMUN V an enriching and enjoyable experience for all delegates. He hopes to inspire others to embrace diplomacy and leave AbbyMUN with valuable memories and new friendships.
